Supply Chain Specialist
Location(s): Cambridgeshire, East Anglia / East Midlands
Salary: c.£25000 + benefits

A major player in its market, our Client is now seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to provide the company with procurement expertise for all procured materials and R&D, to achieve optimum time to market and design for cost criterion, assuring lowest cost of acquisition whilst ensuring ongoing continuity of supply with a safe, flexible and responsive supply chain.
Key Elements:-
To support the UK R&D team with the identification of suppliers and/or technologies and processes to enhance the Company’s product and service portfolio in conjunction with Supply Chain Management and Global Procurement
Continuously review, improve and manage existing suppliers, as well as exploring new contracts and suppliers. Facilitate regular feedback sessions regarding the level of service to ensure contractual and customer requirements are met
Manage and maintain effective working relationships with Operations to ensure an integrated and responsive approach with exception management for all suppliers
Negotiate with all operational suppliers, either individually, or leading cross-functional teams, to develop contracts to support the achievement of the business objectives in conjunction with Global Procurement
To support the implementation of Supply Chain Management and Global Procurement strategies and policies in line with the business needs and objectives. Exploit corporate agreements for maximum benefit.
Develop and implement contracts to support (including purchase orders) the purchase of all goods and services, which minimize commercial risk to the business.
To promote the use of corporate standard supplier and component lists, influence R&D and other functions to ensure adherence.
Educated to HND or Degree level, you will ideally be CIPS qualified and have mechanical / electronic engineering knowledge and experience.
