Logistics Manager

Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 + shift allowance + bonus + excellent benefits

The Role
You will provide leadership for day to day process improvement using critical success factors, to ensure all targets related to safety, wastage rates, defect rates, utilisation and cost reduction are met. Also ensuring functional expertise, to ensure that our Clients Logistics employee's in an assigned area and shift are provided with appropriate coaching and guidance to meet all critical success factors.
Co-ordination efforts to ensure that logistics employees adhere to established procedures for internal and external customers and to ensure compliance with quality requirements. You will behave as a guide and coach, plus lead the logistics employee's toward the requirements of the Leadership and Business objectives, to meet or exceed established safety targets, ensure that all logistics employee's adhere to established safety policies and practices and maintain organisation/housekeeping within the work area to ensure safe working conditions for employees, while also identifying and eliminating safety/health risks.
Your direct reports will be led to meet or exceed area business targets, with training and development of all pertinent employee's in the proper operation and maintenance of equipment and planning for incremental process improvements.
Additionally, you will organise and arrange scheduled activities to maximise resources and optimise equipment and systems, organise to ensure that material and product inventory for assigned areas are adequate to supply internal and external customers as required by logistics demands.
Ensure that all records comply with quality requirements, correlate downtime causes and initiate corrective and preventative actions, implement process improvement activities, identify deficiencies, provide leadership to meet or exceed area cost reduction and process improvement targets. Manage the financial systems and product cost drivers within the designated area and shift. This includes providing input in the creation of, or confirmation of, overhead budgets and cost standards for resourcing, material usage, run speeds and wastage levels.The Person
Degree educated or equivalent.
Proven experience in a man-management role with demonstrated ability to problem solve, report information/findings, develop recommendations, and implement process changes, as needed.
Process improvement techniques.
Proven ability to gain strong results through a team.
Proficiency in communications (oral and written, interpersonal skills, analytical problem solving skills, mature decision making skills).
Strong leadership skills.
Communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills necessary to effectively deal with all levels of the organisation as well as cross-functional teams.
Proficient computer skills.

Commutable within the East Midlands - Nottingham, Derby, Rugby, Northampton, Market Harborough, Daventry, Loughborough, Peterborough, as well as from the West Midlands areas of Coventry, Nuneaton, Bedworth, Birmingham, Tamworth, and also Burton and Leamington Spa.
